Is the key to successful arts fundraising story-telling?

Utilising individual stories to encourage charitable donations is common practice, and it certainly seems to be at the forefront of many news stories concerning giving at the moment.

Most of us will have read the heart-warming story of 21 year old beautician Katie Cutler, who set up a crowdfunding campaign to raise £500 for disabled pensioner Alan Barnes, who was mugged outside of his home.
