Arts Professional comments policy
We welcome positive and insightful comments as well as critical ones, provided that they are expressed in constructive and polite terms.
We do not tolerate abuse, rudeness, hate speech, bullying, lying, commercial messaging or the impersonation of others in any form. We will delete all comments of such nature and reserve the right to remove and/or block severe or multiple offenders from our site, and may report them to www.stopforumspam.com.
Arts Professional does not usually pre-moderate comments, and the deletion or retention of comments is at our absolute discretion.
Libellous and defamatory comments are illegal and may lead to legal action against the commenter. Under the Defamation (Operators of Websites) regulations 2013, we reserve the right to pass commenters’ details on to a claimant.
Anonymous comments
Users must be logged in in order to post a comment, however if they wish they may post their comment anonymously, in which case a pseudonym will appear publicly. Arts Professional staff can identify which user account posted anonymously if necessary, to enforce our comments policy above.
Each pseudonym uniquely identifies a commenter on that page only:
- A user choosing to post anonymously on Story A may be given a random pseudonym of anonymous-1000. They will appear as anonymous-1000 on all subsequent comments on that story.
- If they comment anonymously on a different story, they will likely be assigned a different random number, e.g. anonymous-2500.
- A user called anonymous-1000 commenting on Story B is highly unlikely to be the same person as a user called anonymous-1000 on Story A
