Steven Hadley has been appointed Acting Chief Executive of Audiences NI. He was previously Audience Development Manager with the agency and takes over his new role from Sally Wilson.

The Lyric Theatre Belfast has announced that Michael Diskin has been appointed to the new post of Executive Director. He has been Manager of the Town Hall and Black Box Theatres in Galway for over ten years, as well as Manager of the Galway Arts Festival, Director of the Galway Arts Centre and Director of the Cúirt Festival of Literature.

Sue Carverhill (pictured), who previously worked for Northampton Festival and as Administrative Director of the Leicester International Music Festival, has joined South Northamptonshire Council as Arts Development Officer.

Rachel Brown has been appointed to the newly created role of Marketing and Communications Officer for the Worcestershire Hub at Worcestershire County Council. She previously worked as Marketing Officer at Midlands Arts Centre.

Paul Kirkman is the new Head of Arts at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. His previous work was with the Libraries and Museums sectors.

Nina Hajiyianni has joined Action Transport Theatre as Associate Director. She was previously a Freelance Director and part-time Associate Director with CTC Theatre Company.

Lisa Tregale has been appointed as Director of the newly created South West Music School. She was most recently Director of Beaford Arts and, prior to this, Manager of Dartington International Summer School.

The new Marketing Manager at Dance Base, Scotlands National Centre for Dance, is James Allenby, who was previously working in a freelance capacity.

Bijan Sheibani is the new Artistic Director for Actors Touring Company. He will take over when Gordon Anderson leaves the company next month.

Siobhan Farrington, who previously worked for Ikea, has been appointed as HR Manager at The Lowry arts complex on Salford Quays.

Media Art Bath has appointed a new Director, Bridget Crone. She was previously Gallery Co-ordinator at The Showroom in London.

Jennifer Cawkwell has joined Tate Liverpool as Marketing Officer to support the Gallerys plans to celebrate Liverpool European Capital of Culture 2008. She has spent the past four years as Marketing Executive at The Lowry, Salford.

Victoria Dadd, Assistant Marketing Manager at the BBC National Orchestra of Wales for the past two and a half years, has been appointed as its new Marketing Manager.

City of London Festival has appointed Lindsey Dear as General Manager, in place of Zoe Wolton who is on maternity leave. Lindsey was previously Head of Arts at Bath Festivals Trust.

Clara Suess has joined UZ Events as Marketing & Media Manager, having moved from Scottish Ballet where she was Marketing & New Media Co-ordinator. Alan Anderson is the new Marketing Officer at Scottish Ballet.

The Sheffield Docfest has announced that Fleur Knopperts (pictured), former Managing Director of The FORUM at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, is joining as its Industry and Marketplace Director. She will be developing the Meetmarket, a new initiative using online systems to create face-to-face meetings for producers, broadcasters and distributors.

Alice Bartlett has joined Badapple Theatre Company as Artistic Associate, to develop a new three-year rural touring programme.

Salisbury International Arts Festival has announced the appointment of Jane Thomas as Communications & Development Manager, and Lucy ONeill as Events & Marketing Co-ordinator.

The National Federation of Artists Studio Providers has announced the appointment of its first Director, Val Millington, an independent consultant and researcher.

Arts consultant Louise Cogman has died, aged 46, following the diagnosis of a brain tumour 18 months ago. Her career in the arts included marketing posts at London Festival Ballet, Bristols Arnolfini and St Davids Hall, Cardiff. As a freelancer, she was closely involved in Arts Council Englands Family Friendly Initiative and was joint Lancashire Co-ordinator of The Audience Alliance.
