Edinburgh City Councils new Travelling Gallery service has set off on tour in Scotland, with its opening exhibition Build It and They Will Come focussing on artists whose work is inspired by architecture and the built environment. Custom built, with an interior designed by Edinburgh-based architects Sutherland Hussey and exterior artwork by artist Mandy McIntosh, the new vehicle replaces the current bus which has been touring to schools and communities throughout Scotland for nearly 25 years.

Improved facilities on board include a pavement level entrance, a hearing loop system, increased floor space, new audio visual and IT equipment, air conditioning, CCTV, and increased security and storage. Funding for the project was raised from a Lottery grant, the Council, the Friends of the City Art Centre and the Adapt Trust.
