The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment has announced that Stephen Carpenter, currently Chief Executive of the City of London Sinfonia, will become its Chief Executive to replace Marshall Marcus, who has been appointed Head of Music at the South Bank Centre.

Gus Casely-Hayford (pictured), currently Director of the Institute of International Visual Arts, will be the new Executive Director, Arts Strategy, at Arts Council England. Althea Efunshile (pictured) is moving from her role as Director of Vulnerable Children Group at the Department for Education and Skills to become Executive Director, Arts Planning and Investment.

Caterina Loriggio, who for the past two years has been programming outdoor theatre at the National Theatres summer festival, has joined Medway Councils Arts Team as freelance Festival Manager for Fuse 2007.

Festivals Edinburgh has named arts consultant Faith Liddell as the inaugural Director of the organisation, which was created by the directors of Edinburghs festivals to explore areas of mutual interest and help maintain Edinburghs position as a festival destination.

Astrid Bowron has been appointed as Director of Oxfordshire Visual Arts Development Agency. She was previously Director of the Hampshire Sculpture Trust.

Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art has announced the appointment of Claire Byers (pictured) as its new Director of Communications. She currently works for One NorthEast, the Regional Development Agency for North East England.

Rosie Garton is leaving her role as Company Manager for Reckless Sleepers to take maternity leave and concentrate on her performance work with Zoo Indigo Theatre Company.

Frieze Art Fair has announced the appointment of Neville Wakefield, an independent curator, critic and editor based in New York, as Curator of Frieze Projects at Frieze Art Fair.

Wayne McGregor has become Resident Choreographer of The Royal Ballet.

Musician and arts manager, Elizabeth Andrews, is to be the new Chief Executive of the Scottish Ensemble. She has recently been working as Project Manager for the East Neuk Festival and has been managing the music education conference, Music and the New Musicians.

Shelley Hughes (pictured) has been appointed to the new post of Press & PR Manager for Brighton Dome and Festival. She joins from the independent music publishers Chester Music and Novello & Co.

Kathy Everett is the new General Manager at theatre company Oily Cart, having moved from Windsor Arts Centre where she was Centre Director. She is joined by the new Administrator, Sarah Crompton, previously Communications Assistant at the National Portrait Gallery.

Carolyn Atherton is the newest member of the team at arts marketing company The Cogency. Previously Marketing & Box Office Assistant at the Electric Theatre in Guildford, she takes up the newly created role of Marketing Officer.
