Open Rehearsal, a series of events that will enable the public to experience life behind the scenes in Londons theatre, music, opera and dance venues, will run from 29 September to 1 October. Participants include the South Bank Centre, the Barbican, the Royal Albert Hall, Wigmore Hall, English National Opera, London Symphony Orchestra (pictured); Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Globe Theatre.

All activities are free and the aim is to give more people access to the performing arts, along with the opportunity to take part in workshops in directing, acting, writing and singing. The weekend will also mark the launch of the Listen Up! Festival of Orchestras, a collaboration between BBC Radio 3, the Association of British Orchestras and Making Music.
