What does your organisation do?
The Anvil is a concert hall. Performances range from a superb International Classical Concert series to popular live music, comedy and pantomime. Our motto is ?Great Music LIVE?
What does your current job involve?
Running the box office, including customer service, staffing, training and other day to day duties. I maintain the PASS 2 ticketing system, including setting up new shows for sale.
Who did you used to work for and what did you do?
I joined The Anvil when it opened in 1994 working evenings and weekends within the box office, when my children were young. Before the children were born I was a Personnel Officer for Iceland Frozen Foods.
What do you enjoy most about your present post?
I love the atmosphere, especially when the foyer doors open and the public start arriving for the performance.
What do you find most difficult in your present post?
Juggling a full-time job and family life, especially with the odd hours I need to work sometimes.
What is your career ambition?
No plans so far ? still very happy with my lot!
Who has influenced your career to date most - and why?
Lots of people in lots of ways.
If you could have done any job in the world what would you like to have done?
A Driving Instructor but don?t ask me why!
What is your wish for the future of the arts?
More funding without the hassle!!
