The Film Council has issued a consultation document setting out its proposals for the distribution of specialised films, and support for cinema education and cinema exhibition.
Under the proposals, £1m a year would be allocated to a selective print and advertising fund to cover the costs of striking additional prints and marketing costs. A further £1m a year would be used to support venue-based education activity, with the creation of at least 20 new cinema education posts across 40 venues; and £15m over 4 years would be invested in new cinemas, screens, refurbishment and equipment.
