Tom Courtenay's first piece of writing for the stage, ?Pretending to be Me?, will have its world premiere at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, directed by Ian Brown in his first season since being appointed Playhouse Artistic Director.
The solo show, in which Courtenay also stars, is an affectionate tribute to Philip Larkin with Courtenay's words interspersed with Larkin's poetry. Ian Brown and Tom Courtenay will be reunited for the first time since ?Moscow Stations?, the one man show at Edinburgh's Traverse Theatre which won Courtenay the Evening Standard Award for Best Actor on its transfer to London.
