Three years after losing NPO status, Trevelyan Wright of B Arts reflects on the rocky road to resilience. 

B Arts has recently been accepted onto an Arts Council programme Resilience. Part of the wider Catalyst scheme, it is designed to enable organisations to respond better to changes in the external environment – whether technological, financial, environmental or social. The underlying background music is one of less investment from ACE, and a rapidly changing funding environment. We’re one of only a few organisations out of the twenty-six chosen from the West Midlands and East London who are not currently a National Portfolio Organisation. B Arts, like Vivid Projects and many others across the country are now in their third year of moving forward without either the badge of RFO status or the quarterly payments.
