More than 300 artists will work in Londons hospitals this year according to new research by London Arts in Health Forum (LAHF). The research, commissioned by Arts Council England, was designed to establish a baseline of activity in London hospitals, to identify areas which required support, and to establish links between artists and co-ordinators working in Londons 32 Acute Trusts.

Ninety per cent of the new hospital buildings which have been developed over the past three years by Londons Trusts have some form of integrated art, with notable examples including the Gateway Surgical Centre at Newham General Hospital (pictured). While the research revealed concerns about funding, over half of all respondents had raised funds through commercial sponsorship and half through private trusts.
