Jonathan Mills (pictured), one of Australias most experienced festival directors, will be taking on the role of Director of the Edinburgh International Festival in October 2006. His previous posts have included Artistic Director of the Melbourne International Arts Festival, the Melbourne Millennium Eve celebrations and the Brisbane Biennial International Music Festival. He will succeed Sir Brian McMaster, who will be standing down in the autumn after 15 years as Festival Director.

The Albany in Deptford has appointed Raidene Carter to the new post of Associate Producer. She joins from Talawa Theatre Company, where she has been Education Associate for the past three years.

Bob Riley, who is currently General Manager of the Lancashire Sinfonietta and Director of Blue Frog Music Management, has been appointed as the new General Manager of Manchester Camerata. He succeeds Gavin Reid, who was recently appointed Director of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra in Glasgow.

Holly Kendrick has been appointed as new Director of the National Student Drama Festival, following the decision by Andrew Loretto to take up a position as Co-Director of Chol Theatre. Holly was the founder of both Caird Company and Sound Theatre, and was the Cameron Mackintosh Oxford University Drama Officer.

Shakespeares Globe has announced the appointment of Andrew Macnair as Marketing Director. He is currently Head of Business Development at Historic Royal Palaces, and was previously the Travel Trade Manager, New Millennium Experience, responsible for the sales and marketing of the Dome.

Stacey Arnold has joined Tate Liverpool as Press Officer, to support the organisations activities in the run-up to Liverpools year as European Capital of culture 2008. She was previously Communications Officer at Nottingham Playhouse and Press Officer at West Yorkshire Playhouse.
