The Music Centre Gateshead has unveiled details of a £6m sponsorship package by The Sage Group plc., an international supplier of accounting and business management software and services which employs 5,600 people across the world including 1,200 in the North East.
The building, which is due for completion in 2003, will from now on be known as ?The Sage Gateshead?, and a new logo and identity for it has been designed by the Angus Hyland, a partner of the design consultancy Pentagram. The sponsorship is to form part of an endowment fund providing an annual income for North Music Trust, the registered charity that runs the organisation. The latest funding boost brings the total amount pledged to the endowment, which supports the Trust?s artistic and educational work, to £11.35m.
