The Gate Theatre in London has appointed LISE BELL as Executive Director. Previously a Producer at the Bush Theatre, she will join the organisation next month to replace JO ROYCE, who is leaving to become Executive Director at Candoco Dance Company. Bell and Artistic Director ELLEN MCDOUGALL will work together as joint Chief Executives.

CAROL JONES has been appointed as editor of CultureHive, the Arts Marketing Association’s (AMA) online resource library. She was formerly Head of Consultancy in Wales for The Audience Agency.
JOSHUA MCTAGGART has been appointed as Artistic Director and CEO of London’s Chelsea Theatre. He will step down from his current role as Artistic Director of the Bunker Theatre in September.
ABIGAIL D’AMORE, former Chief Executive of Musical Futures, has been appointed as External Director to the board of Printed Music Licensing Limited (PMLL). A freelance project manager and consultant, she is also a trustee of Music Mark.
RASHMI BECKER, Founding Director of inclusive dance company Step Change Studios, has been appointed to the Sport England board for a 3-year term. She has more than 20 years’ experience of working in government and the charity sector on policy, communications and disability advocacy.
New Perspectives Theatre Company, based in the East Midlands, has appointed NEALE BIRCH as a part-time Producer. From 2009 to 2017, Birch was Associate Producer at the Touring Consortium Theatre Company.
Britten Sinfonietta has appointed ALICE WALTON to the new role of Communications Director. Walton, who will join the orchestra in September, was Marketing Director of the Philharmonia Orchestra from 1999 to 2015, and since then has worked as a freelance consultant.

Artistic Director and Chief Executive of Edinburgh’s Traverse Theatre, ORLA O’LOUGHLIN, has been appointed as Vice Principal and Director of Drama at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. She will take over from CHRISTIAN BURGESS in January, who retires after 15 years in senior roles at the School.
The new Chair of English National Ballet’s board of trustees is SIR ROGER CARR, who is also Chair of BAE Systems, the arms manufacturer that recently withdrew as a sponsor of the Great Exhibition of the North following a backlash from artists involved in the event. He replaces JUSTIN BICKLE...
After 12 years of leadership, Artistic Director and CEO of HighTide theatre company STEVEN ATKINSON is moving on. His programming will conclude with HighTide Festival Walthamstow in September 2019, during the area’s year as London Borough of Culture.
