Artistic Director of the Octagon Theatre, Bolton, DAVID THACKER is to become the first Professor of Theatre at the University of Bolton, leading its new BA (Hons) degree in Theatre. The theatre and university will be working closely, and Thacker will remain at the Octagon as Associate Artistic Director until 2018.
JANICE HOSEGOOD has been appointed as the new Head of Communications at Cockpit Arts, the creative business incubator for designer-makers. Currently Manager of Ruberg Jewellery in London, Hosegood will continue to run the freelance arts consultancy that she set up in 2007.
Senior Publicist for Albion Media, NAOMI BURGOYNE is stepping down after two years in post to cover maternity leave for LIBBY BINKS, Press Manager for Classical Music at the Southbank Centre.

Chief Executive of Luton Culture, MAGGIE APPLETON MBE, is stepping down after six years in post to take up the position of CEO at the Royal Air Force Museum. Appleton is also a Heritage Lottery Fund committee member for the East of England and a board member for the Museums Association.
After nine years as Director of Stratford Circus, CLARE CONNOR is stepping down to become Director of Business Development at the Southbank Centre.
JASON WOOD is leaving Curzon, where he has been Director of Programming for five years, to become Artistic Director: Film at Manchester’s new art centre HOME.
The new Producer for English Touring Theatre is JAMES QUAIFE. His recent productions include Next Fall at the Southwark Playhouse and Good People at the Noel Coward Theatre.
Manchester Camerata has appointed three new board members: Chief Executive of the Commission for the New Economy MIKE EMMERICH; Partner, Transaction Advisory Services at EY (formerly Ernst and Young), RICHARD HARDING; and ANDY SPINOZA, Managing Director of PR agency SKV Communications.
The Interim CEO of Poet in the City, ISOBEL COLCHESTER, will remain on permanently in the role. She has been associated with the organisation for more than five years.
