SIMON DAYKIN has taken up a new role as the first General Manager of Wells Maltings, joining in September 2017 following positions including Executive Director of Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds.
He is joined by TIM LANKESTER, previously Deputy Chair of the British Council and a governor of the Royal College of Music, who has been appointed Chair of the Wells Maltings Trust.
Formerly Director of Development at Lyric Hammersmith, LYNDEL HARRISON has taken up a post as Director of Development and Alumni Relations at London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).
BETHANY MCDONALD SHEPHERD will also be joining LAMDA as Deputy Director of Development from 26 January.
Director of Stage Electrics ADAM BLAXILL, who joined the Professional Lighting and Sound Association (PLASA) board in 2012, has been elected Chair. He takes over from ED PAGETT who has served as Chair for an extended seven years.
Freelance director JOE DOUGLAS, who was Associate Artistic Director at Dundee Rep and is Co-Artistic Director of Utter, has been named the new Artistic Director of Newcastle’s Live Theatre.
NATALIE USHER, the Director of Screen at Creative Scotland since 2014, has announced plans to step down ahead of the opening of a new screen unit.
After 33 years at Artsadmin, Co-Director GILL LLOYD will be stepping down at the end of June 2018. She will continue to work on Artsadmin’s archive on a part-time basis until December.
In addition, Artsadmin Artistic Director JUDITH KNIGHT will be leaving the company in 2019.

Matt Hancock, previously Minister for Digital at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), has been named the Government’s new Culture Secretary. He replaces Karen Bradley, in post since 2016, who moves on to a new role as Northern Ireland Secretary.

Director of London’s Hayward Gallery, RALPH RUGOFF, has been appointed Artistic Director of the 58th Venice Biennale in 2019.
