Six new board members are joining the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (RWCMD).

Among those appointed is one of the founding directors of Glas Gymru NIGEL ANNETT CBE, opera singer and maker APRIL KOYEJO-AUDIGER, musician and Chair of the PRS Foundation NITIN SAWHNEY CBE and DAVID RUEBAIN, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Culture, Equality and Inclusion at the University of Sussex.

They are joined by Deputy Chair of the National Film and Television School IAN LEWIS and RWCMD graduate TIANYI LU. Lu is now a conductor-in-residence with the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra in Norway, a Welsh National Opera Female Conductor in Residence and Artist Ambassador of Opera for Peace.

RWCMD’s Vice President RHODRI TALFAN said the appointments reflect the college's determination to make music and drama education accessible to people from all backgrounds.

Principle HELENA GAUNT added: “As we continue to deepen and extend the College’s impact both in Wales and internationally the overall mix of skills and expertise on our board will play an essential part in achieving our ambitions.”
