Lauren Clancy. She is smiling against a dark green wall. She is wearing a black top and has short brown hair.

The Bush Theatre’s Executive Director LAUREN CLANCY plans to step down next year.

Originally joining the organisation nine years ago as Head of Marketing, Clancy became Executive Director in 2017, working closely alongside Artistic Director LYNETTE LINTON since 2018.

“I have really loved working with Lauren for the last four years. I am incredibly proud of our partnership and what the Bush has achieved under her leadership, particularly in such difficult times,” Linton said.

During her tenure, Clancy was Executive Producer on a number of productions including Winsome Pinnock’s Leave Taking, Red Pitch by Tyrell Williams and Arinzé Kene’s Misty, which transferred to the West End.

The Bush Theatre has maintained a strong relationship with Arts Council England under Clancy’s leadership and recently saw a small uplift in its NPO funding.

Clancy called the theatre a “mighty force”.

“Our plays start conversations that travel far beyond the walls of our building. I’m grateful to have had the chance to shape the organisation and immensely proud of the contribution it makes to the industry,” she added.
