Following the death of SIR PETER MAXWELL DAVIES earlier this year, The Royal Society of Musicians has appointed composer JUDITH WEIR as its new President.

RICHARD TWYMAN, an Associate Director at London’s Royal Court Theatre, is to become Artistic Director of English Touring Theatre. He will replace RACHEL TACKLEY in November, who will join Chichester Festival Theatre as Executive Director.
ROMA BACKHOUSE, founder of the Bloomsbury Festival, is to join Free Word as Director from September. She will replace ROSE FENTON, who is to step down after five years in the role.
LLOYD ANDERSON has stepped down as Director of British Council Scotland, after almost five years in post. He has been succeeded by JACKIE KILLEEN, formerly Director, Scotland, for the Big Lottery Fund.
Artistic Director and Chief Executive of the Birmingham Hippodrome FIONA ALLAN is to become President of UK Theatre. She succeeds RACHEL TACKLEY, Director of English Touring Theatre and soon to be Executive Director of Chichester Festival Theatre, who was elected President in 2010.
Currently Director of Strategy and Development with the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, NINA CAMLLERI is to join the London Youth Choir as Executive Director this autumn.
Previously a member of the press office at English National Opera, ANNIE LYDFORD has taken up a newly created position of Head of Press at WildKat PR.

CHRIS COTTON, CEO of the Royal Albert Hall for the past seven years, has announced his retirement.
Executive Director of the ICA since 2011, GREGOR MUIR, is to take up the role of Director of Collection for International Art at Tate from January 2017. He succeeds FRANCES MORRIS, now Director of Tate Modern, who held the position from 2006.
Director of the Theatres Trust MHORA SAMUEL is to step down after 10 years in the role. She will be replaced by REBECCA MORLAND, currently the Trust’s Theatres Adviser, on an interim basis while the organisation recruits a new Director.
