BENNY HIGGINS, Chief Executive of Tesco Bank and Group Strategy Director for Tesco PLC, is to succeed BEN THOMSON as the new Chair of the National Galleries of Scotland (NGS) Board. He is also a Trustee of the Edinburgh International Culture Summit.

ROD HEBDEN has been appointed as interim Director of The Swindon Museum and Art Gallery Trust, following the resignation of HADRIAN ELLORY-VAN DEKKER. Both Hebden and his predecessor have previously worked for the Science Museum.

ALISON KING, Chief Executive of Turtle Key Arts, has been elected as the new Chair of the Independent Theatre Council. Formerly vice chair of the membership organisation, she has been acting chair since the departure of KATIE KEELER earlier this year.

Arts Catalyst’s new Executive Director will be CLAUDIA LASTRA, who joined the organisation in 2012 and became Head of Programme in 2016. ANNA SANTOMAURO, independent curator and co-founder and Chief Curator of Vessel in Bari, Italy, joins as Programme Curator.
JOHN NEWBIGIN OBE, who steps down from his role as Chair of Creative England in the autumn, has been announced as the new Chair of specialist creative industries law firm Counterculture Partnership.
NELL LEYSHON, the first female playwright to have her work produced at Shakespeare’s Globe, has been appointed as a Trustee.

Labour politician MICHAEL DUGHER, who announced his intention to leave politics in April, has been appointed as UK Music’s new Chief Executive. The Former Shadow Culture Secretary will join in mid-May, replacing JO DIPPLE, who leaves after five years in the role.
The Director of Bergen Kunsthall, MARTIN CLARK, will take up the post of Director of Camden Arts Centre from September 2017. He replaces JENNI LOMAX, who steps down in July after 26 years in the role.
Formerly Head of Learning & Participation at Alexandra Palace, SARAH JAMES has been appointed Director of The Architecture Centre. She follows CHRISTINE DAVIS, who left after five years in post.
CHRISTOPHER BREWARD, currently Principal of Edinburgh College of Art, has been appointed as National Galleries of Scotland’s new Director of Collection and Research.
