CATHERINE HEARNE, Chief Executive of Helix Arts since January 2015, has announced she will be leaving the organisation in July. She will continue to work in the North East cultural sector as Chair of Culture Bridge North East.

AMANDA NEVILL has announced that she will be stepping down as BFI’s CEO early next year. She joined the organisation in 2003 – the first female in the CEO role – and in 2012 took on an expanded remit as the BFI became the UK’s National Lottery distributor for film.

NICOLE YIP is joining Nottingham Contemporary as its new Chief Curator in July. She has been Director of LUX, Scotland since 2016 and previously worked at LUX, London; Firstsite in Colchester; and ICA in London.
LAURIE BELL joins The Cheltenham Trust as its Chief Executive from a senior leadership role at Wiltshire Council. In her new role, she will lead Cheltenham’s cultural and leisure portfolio which includes The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum, Leisure at Cheltenham, Cheltenham Town Hall, Pittville Pump Room and the Prince of Wales Stadium.
Current Chair of the National Theatre of Scotland, Dame SEONA REID, has been appointed the new Chair of British Council Scotland’s Advisory Committee. She is a Board member of the Edinburgh International Cultural Summit and Tate Gallery, Chair of Tate Britain Advisory Council and will be succeeding WILLY ROE CBE, who has chaired the Committee since 2015.
Swindon’s Wyvern Theatre and Arts Centre has announced LAURA JAMES as its new Theatre Director. She has been promoted into the role from her position as Marketing & Sales Manager and will take overall responsibility for all aspects of the theatre’s operation. Her appointment follows the departure of ROBERT MILES earlier this year, who left after just two months in the Theatre Director post.
Formerly Deputy Artistic Director at the National Theatre, BEN POWER is stepping down to focus on his freelance writing career. He will continue working with the theatre on a part-time basis as an Artistic Associate.

JANE-EVE STRAUGHTON, who joined in 2014 having served as Executive Director of The Opera Group, and Producer at Norwegian National Opera and ENO, has been promoted to the new role of Executive Director.
