DANIEL BAILEY is leaving Birmingham Repertory Theatre to replace OMAR ELERIAN as Associate Director at the Bush Theatre. He originally joined The REP as part of the Regional Theatre Young Director Scheme.
Operations Director for the Nimax group of West End theatres, JAMES HEATON is leaving to join Woolwich Creative District Trust as CEO in August. Prior to his role at Nimax, he spent seven years at Camden’s Roundhouse where his achievements included delivering the iTunes Festival and starting London’s trend for man-made urban beaches with his Camden Beach concept.
After 21 years with the Royal Exchange Theatre, the last five of which as sole Artistic Director, SARAH FRANKCOM is leaving to take up the post of Director at drama school LAMDA in November. Alongside her work on stage, she established the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting and championed the development of community projects such as Young Company and Elders, Open Exchange, and the Theatre’s newest programme, Local Exchange
BECKY WEST is the new Regional Producer – North for Orchestras Live. She has previously worked for the Association of British Orchestras, Trinity College of Music’s Junior department, and as General Manager for November Club, a Northumberland based site-specific theatre company. TOM FOSTER has also joined the team as Administration and Communications Assistant.
LOSAL CHIODAK is the new Genesis Young Curator for Create London, a role supported by the Genesis Foundation. During the year-long position he will spend three days a week working with Create and for the first six months will spend one day a week with the curatorial team at Tate Britain. Subsequently he will spend one day a week at Chisenhale Gallery, working on the organisation’s Engagement Programme.
Directors STEVE HEAP and LIOUX HEAP are to retire after the 2019 Towersey festival. Steve Heap first attended Towersey in 1966 as a performer, before taking on roles including Steward’s Coordinator, Campsite Manager, Publicity and Marketing Assistant, and finally the festival’s Director in 1975. Cornwall based theatre company, WildWorks, has announced EMMA HOGG as the company’s Executive Director. The former Programme Producer for Eden Project joined WildWorks in 2014.
Artistic Director of Studio Wayne McGregor and Resident Choreographer of The Royal Ballet, Covent Garden, WAYNE MCGREGOR, has been appointed as the new Vice President of Elmhurst Ballet School. The appointment marks the new partnership between Studio Wayne McGregor and Elmhurst Ballet School.
