Welsh drama school ditches academic marks in wellbeing bid

First year students on acting and design for performance courses at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama are no longer given academic grades, as part of the school’s bid to help students transition into higher education and improve mental health. The College plans to roll the practice out to more courses later this year.

Two new permanent homes for Southwark Playhouse

The theatre, which has operated in temporary venues since it was founded in 1993, has announced it will move to a permanent venue in Elephant and Castle next year with a 300-seat flexible theatre space. In addition, a satellite venue in London Bridge will be home to its work with emerging artists, with two spaces of 150 and 200 seats.
