Literature development agency Spread the Word has announced the appointment of four new trustees to its board as part of its goal to develop and support London’s writers from underrepresented communities.

SAM DODD is a writing mentor, editor and Co-Founder and Project Manager at CityLife Stories and DELLA HILL is Diversity and Inclusion Lead at Chwarae Teg and a consultant and speaker at people make it work.

GITA RALLEIGH is an NHS Doctor, poet and writer who teaches creative writing to science undergraduates at Imperial College and JOE SEDGWICK is Head of Writing Services at The Literary Consultancy.

“We’re fortunate to have added four trustees with a deep care and concern for stories and literature, the role that they can play in people’s lives and a desire to open up the worlds of creative writing and publishing to those currently marginalised or excluded from them,” said Board Chair RISHI DASTIDAR.

Spread the Word Director RUTH HARRISON said the new trustees “bring a wealth and breadth of experience, knowledge and expertise” to the charity.
