With some inevitability, Lyn Gardner has announced that her regular blog for The Guardian is to be canned from April 1. The move is part of cost-cutting measures and in business terms, it makes sense; saving the Guardian £13,500.00 per year. I like many others am outraged – Gardner has significantly maintained a high standard of theatre critique in the public realm, refreshingly, not defined by clickbait.
