Rose Bruford College has named Professor RANDALL WHITTAKER Principal and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Taking up post in September, he succeeds Acting Principal MARY OLIVER, who will return to the role of Vice Principal.

Whittaker will join from Leeds Arts University where he is Pro-Vice-Chancellor Academic with responsibility for research, postgraduate development, and internationalisation. Previously, he held various roles at Leeds College of Music, including Director of Curriculum and Research, Associate Director, and Head of Music Production.

Known for his work on representation, Whittaker is also a serving member of the higher education member charity AdvanceHE Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee and has worked closely with the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education to advance leadership opportunities in specialist institutions.

Chair of the Board of Governors JENNIFER SIMS said Whittaker is an “ideal choice” to lead the organisation.

“Randall’s appointment will ensure the continuation of Rose Bruford College’s position as a leader in the field of education, training and research for the performing arts industry.”

“The College has an impressive pioneering spirit and its graduates make a significant contribution to the global creative industries,” Whittaker added.

“I look forward to working with the Rose Bruford community to enhance its wider societal impact through cultural intelligence, research and to provide outstanding training for global creative and critically aware citizens.”
