Tovey is Art UK’s 2022 Patron

RUSSEL TOVEY has been named 2022 Patron of cultural education charity Art UK.

The actor and writer succeeds last year’s patron, classicist MARY BEARD, and will support Art UK in its mission to democratise access to the UK's art collection.

Co-founder and host of podcast Talk Art – and an author of a book of the same name – Tovey says digitising access to the nation’s art collection is “genius”.

“My own ethos, as well as Talk Art’s, is all about making art more accessible and non-elitist and I feel that is mirrored with Art UK’s values and philosophies.”
