The Museums Association has elected STEVE MILLER as its President.

Miller, who is Director of Culture and Heritage at Norfolk County Council and Head of Norfolk Museums Service, will begin a three-year term on 1 April, replacing GILLIAN FINDLAY.

Before moving to Norfolk, Miller was the CEO of Ironbridge Gorge Museums. A Museums Association trustee since 2019, he is also a council member of National Museum Directors’ Council.

“I feel very honoured to be taking up the position of president of the Museums Association in April, and I would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to Gillian Findlay, who has been an outstanding leader for the association and the sector as a whole.

“In these challenging times, it is vital that museums continue to be seen as welcoming places for everyone in our communities, as well as a source of deep inspiration and joy – and the Museums Association helps make a compelling case.”
