Revd BETSY BLATCHLEY, who worked in theatre for over 20 years before training for ordination, including five years at the National Theatre, has become Southwark Diocese’s first Pioneer Minister in the Arts. She will work across the Battersea Nine Elms development areas and is passionate about “seeing God’s love and justice transform London, through the mission of God’s church and through the arts”. Blatchley’s appointment follows a similar initiative in Glasgow, when Rev PETER GARDNER was appointed Arts Minister for the Church of Scotland.
