HAZEL EDWARDS is joining Arts Council England as its new South East Area Director in the spring. For the past six and a half years she has led research in arts, humanities and education at Durham University and the University of the West of England in Bristol. She originally trained as a social history curator and worked in museums and art galleries in the North East for 25 years. She was also the first woman to lead Discovery Museum, Newcastle’s science and industry, and sat on the Museums Association Board for three years.
