SIR MICHAEL DIXON has announced he will retire as Director of the Natural History Museum in March 2021. A search for his successor will begin this summer.
Dixon has been in the role for the past 15 years, presiding over the development of its £78m Darwin Centre, major touring exhibitions, and several international scientific projects. Attendance numbers at the venue doubled to 5.5 million visitors a year during his tenure.
