LLEUCU SIENCYN, acting chief executive of Literature Wales since June, has been confirmed in that post. Formerly a literature officer for the Arts Council of Wales, she was Deputy Chief Executive at Academi from 2002 to 2011.

Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales will have two new Trustees next year, PROFFESOR ROBERT PICKARD, Professor of Neurobiology at the University of Cardiff, and TV Producer DR GLENDA JONES.

ANDREW CORNALL, Vice President, Artists and Repertoire of EMI Classics, has joined the Board of at the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic. An award-winning record producer, he was previously Executive Director (Artistic Policy – Orchestra & Ensembles) with Liverpool Philharmonic.

Youth Music Theatre UK has a new Chair, ROYCE BELL, who was until recently the Chief Executive of Accenture Information Management Services. He takes over from DR ANNE WRIGHT.

DR JANETTE KERR has been elected to the role of President of the Royal West of England Academy. She is a visual artist working primarily with drawing and painting, and a Visiting Research Fellow in Fine Art at the University of the West of England.

Futurecity cultural regeneration agency is expanding its team with three new appointments: NICKY PETTO from LIFT and the Mayor's Thames festival; WILLIAM SORRELL, formerly at The Sorrell Foundation and the British Council; and CLAIRE POLLOCK, previously Sea Change Advisor at CABE and Architecture Officer with the Arts Council.

DANIELA ROSE has been appointed to the new role of General Manager at the Baltic Youth Philharmonic. For several years she ran the concert department of the Salzburg Festival and was most recently Senior Manager of the Orchestral Tours Division of IMG Artists.

CLAIRE SNEDDEN has left her role as Media Relations Assistant for Glasgow’s Concert Halls and Celtic Connections to join Material Marketing and Communications.

Craft NI is saying goodbye to EMMA DUGGAN, who joined as its Administrative Assistant, and more recently worked as Marketing, Communications and Project Officer.
 

PETER STARK has become Chair at Voluntary Arts, the national representative body for the amateur arts and crafts across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. He has taken over from KATHRYN DEANE of Sound Sense who stepped down this week at the end of her maximum term of six years.

A number of new appointments have been made to the Sales & Marketing team at the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham. SARAH JOHNSON and IMOGEN WARD take on the roles of Marketing Officers at the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall respectively. MARGARET SPOONER becomes Web & E-Marketing Officer and EMMA HUSTWAIT, Deputy Ticket Sales Manager.

BEN EVANS has been appointed Drama and Dance Adviser for sub-Saharan Africa and Western Europe at the British Council. He comes direct from his role as founder and Creative Director of independent theatre producing company, BeCreative and will provide a 13-month maternity cover for Adviser NADINE OWEN.
 

Creative Scotland has appointed a new team comprising TRIGGER, a producer-led arts organisation (SUZY GLASS and ANGIE BUAL) and CHRIS FREMANTLE, to manage Creative Scotland’s public art resource, PAR+RS: Public Art Scotland.

Brighton Fringe has announced that JULIAN CADDY, former Director and Co-Founder of Sweet Venues, is joining Brighton Fringe as its new Managing Director.

After nearly six years as editor of Gramophone, JAMES INVERNE has decided to relinquish the role. He will retain links with the magazine as contributing editor.

ADEL AL-SALLOUM will be joining The Spark Children’s Arts Festival as its new Director in January 2012. Currently Associate Director of Curve, she will succeed outgoing Festival Director and Co-Founder ELLEN BIANCHINI.

DAN JARVIS, Member of Parliament for Barnsley Central, is the new Shadow Culture Minister. Together with HARRIET HARMAN, he will lead on the National Lottery, museums and galleries, the creative industries, theatre, opera and orchestras.
 

CHRIS TRAVERS has taken up the newly created post of Director of Marketing, Communications and Audiences at the BFI. He was most recently Director of Strategy and Communications for The Royal Parks, prior to which he was at the BBC in senior marketing roles. He has also served as Head of Marketing at the Barbican Centre and Head of Marketing and Press for Welsh National Opera.

JO BREEZE, Marketing and Communications Manager for the English Folk Dance and Song Society, is leaving to develop her freelance work. SOPHIA LINEHAN is the new Marketing and Communications Director.

LISA WARD has joined Shetland Arts Development Agency as Marketing and Communications Officer. She was previously a journalist for a local newspaper and most recently had a communications and community liaison role for a wind farm developer.

Stage One, the charity that supports producers for commercial theatre, has announced that JOSEPH SMITH (pictured) will be succeeding NICK SALMON as its Chief Executive. Since 2006 Smith has been Executive Producer for Old Vic Productions and since 2010 he has also operated as the commercial consultant for the Royal Court Theatre.

The new Director at the Junction in Cambridge will be DANIEL BRINE, who will join from Australian interdisciplinary arts organisation Performance Space, where he has been Artistic Director and Chief Executive since 2008.

After 11 years at the Octagon Theatre, Bolton, Executive Director JOHN BLACKMORE will be leaving next June to work as a freelance theatre consultant.

Independent theatre producer LAURA COLLIER (pictured) has been appointed Head of the National Theatre Studio. Previously Senior Producer at Battersea Arts Centre and Associate Producer at the Traverse Theatre, she will succeed PURNI MORELL, who has become Director of The Unicorn Theatre.

DOROTHY WILSON, Chief Executive and Artistic Director of mac Birmingham, is the new Chair at the Coventry Heritage and Arts Trust. She has taken over from KEITH RAILTON.

The UK Culture Contact Point has a new team member, LEA SEIBERT, who will be the European Information Assistant responsible for providing information about the EU Culture Programme and supporting funding applications.
