LOUISE JEFFREYS has been appointed as Director of Programming at the Barbican Centre. The creation of this new role follows the departure of Artistic Director GRAHAM SHEFFIELD to become Chief Executive of the West Kowloon Cultural District in Hong Kong. Jeffreys is currently Head of Theatre and Arts Projects at the Barbican Centre, and prior to this she was Administrative Director at Nottingham Playhouse and Technical Director at English National Opera.
 

SYLVIA OSPINA has joined Candlestar, a London-based cultural consultancy, as Arts Manager, having previously held senior arts posts in the UK, France and Colombia. She most recently worked at Angela Flowers Gallery in London and as an independent arts consultant. She replaces CLAUDIA GARUTI, who has left the company to resume her studies.
Theatre company Crying Out Loud has appointed PHILIPPA BARR as General Manager. She was previously the Director of the New Work Network, which supports the development of new performance and live and interdisciplinary arts practice.

STEVEN BILLINGTON has joined the Broadway theatre in Barking in the new post of Trainee Technician.

Hull Truck has a new Chief Executive, ANDREW SMAJE. He will move from Theatre Royal Bath in October.

DARYL SMITH has joined Futures Theatre Company as Development Manager. He moves from the Queen’s Theatre, Hornchurch where he was Development Manager.

Sheffield Theatres has announced CLAIRE MURRAY as its Marketing & Sales Director. She has been the interim post holder on a freelance basis since July 2009.

HANNAH FENTON has been appointed Administrative Officer at Arts & Business South West. She joins from the Arts Marketing Association, where she was Finance & Development Officer.

Director of Audiences South West, JO DEREZA, is leaving due to ill health.

ESME GODDEN has joined people management consultancy Year One Consulting as Team Assistant. She moves from Silkworm Studios and The Creative Foundation in Folkestone, to replace DAN SIMPSON who has left to pursue his performance poetry career.
