Margaret Hodge has returned to the DCMS as Minister for Culture and Tourism after a year of compassionate leave. Barbara Follett, who stepped into the role during her absence, will become Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Communities and Local Government.

Chief Executive of Leicester Theatre Trust, Ruth Eastwood, will step down later this month. Stella McCabe, Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Communications, and Paul Kerryson, Artistic Director, will lead the organisation in the coming weeks supported by the Chair, Board of Trustees and other senior executives. An announcement regarding the recruitment of a new Chief Executive will be made in due course.

Jen Fordham, is the new Director of Children, Young People and Emerging Artists at the Lyric Hammersmith. She moves from the National Theatre where she was Youth Programme Manager.

Pauline Tambling, who has been Acting Managing Director of the National Skills Academy for Creative & Cultural Skills, has been appointed as its Director. She has worked as Chief Operating Officer for Creative & Cultural Skills, and previously held senior positions at Arts Council England for nine years.

Talawa, Britain’s leading Black-led theatre company, has announced Christopher Rodriquez as its interim General Manager following the departure of Executive Director, Deborah Sawyerr. Rodriquez initially trained in accountancy and has been with Talawa for eight years.

Paul Middleton has been appointed as Dean of the School of The Arts at The University of Northampton. He formerly headed departments at De Montfort University and the University of Lincoln.

The Press and Public Relations Manager at Birmingham Royal Ballet, Angela Hughes, is leaving at the end of October to take up the position of Communications Manager at First Light (Movies).

CultureLabel.com has announced three new members of staff. Sophie Gaskill, formerly Media Manager at Arts & Business, is the new Director of Communications.  Philippa Irvine, who was previously an intern at Tate, is appointed Marketing Executive. James Mcllvenny, who has a background in journalism and PR, becomes E-Commerce Executive.

The International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies (IFACCA) has elected Alan Davey, Chief Executive Officer of Arts Council England, as its next Chair. Robert Sirman, Director of the Canada Council, will continue as Treasurer.

Reemer J Bailey will be leaving Voluntary Arts England to join Bolton at Home, a community housing and regeneration group.
