Caroline Sharman is leaving her role as Director of The Theatre, Chipping Norton, to become the new Director of The New Theatre Royal, Portsmouth. She takes over from Mark Courtice, who has moved into producing contemporary dance with the Shobana Jeyasingh Company.

Theatre Director Cheryl Martin will be joining the Traverse Theatre as Director in Residency, a post supported under a new scheme called the Equalities Career Development Fund. She has been based at Contact Theatre in Manchester as Associate Director responsible for New Writing.

Katie Harding is the new Head of Development at Modern Art Oxford. She joins the Gallery from Arnolfini, Bristol, and prior to this worked as a freelance fundraiser for arts and heritage organisations after working in London at the Whitechapel and Tate galleries. Kirsty Kelso, previously Head of Marketing and Development, moves into a new position as Head of Marketing and Audience Development.

Sherman Cymru has two new Associate Directors: Amy Hodge, an Associate Artist of Operating Theatre, who will be responsible for English language work, and Arwel Gruffydd, Literary Manager at Sherman Cymru, who will be responsible for Welsh language work.

Theatre Royal Winchester has announced that Dale Potter (pictured) has been appointed to the newly created role of Digital Marketing Manager. He joins the Theatre Royal team from The Lemon Tree in Aberdeen.

Independent producer Debra King is the new Creative Programmer for the West London Story, West London’s cultural offer for 2012, being facilitated in partnership with the Western Wedge, a group of eight West London boroughs working together. She will work alongside Tim Jones of Solar Associates.

Co-founder and Chairman of Getty Images Inc., Mark Getty has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Gallery and has been re-appointed by the Prime Minister for a third term of office as a trustee. He takes over from Peter Scott QC.

Samantha Rider (pictured) has been appointed as the Head of Sponsorship and Development for Brighton Dome and Festival. She joins from the children’s educational charity, Christ’s Hospital Foundation in Sussex.

Olivia Thornton is the new Marketing and Communications Officer at Oxford Inspires. She was previously Curator and Administrator at West Ox Arts.

Northern Ballet Theatre has appointed three new members to its Board of Directors: Alan Harrison, Director of Information Technology at Yorkshire Water; Denise Jagger, a partner at international law firm Eversheds; and Leeds Councillor John Procter.

David Bintley becomes Artistic Director of the New National Theatre Ballet Company, Tokyo, in addition to his post of Director at Birmingham Royal Ballet.

Kent Music, a provider of instrumental and vocal tuition, has appointed arts manager Peter Bolton (pictured) as Chief Executive. He has been running his own business, Ovation, focusing on events and festivals.

At a-n The Artists Information Company, Tracy Adamson is now the Company Manager, Chris Brown, artist and Co-Director of Cardiff-based g39, a-n Magazine Co-ordinator, and Nicola Morgan, communications and marketing specialist, has taken the AIR Communications role.

Robin Hawkes (pictured) will be leaving his role as Administrator at the Independent Theatre Council to move to the National Theatre. He will take up the post of Assistant to the Executive Director and Associate Director.

Komedia has appointed a new CEO, Ranjit Singh whose previous roles include working for The Body Shop and Yo! Sushi restaurant.

Richard Brown has been appointed Arts Development Manager at South Cambridgeshire District Council. He was previously an independent production manager and the Head of Music at the Junction.

Andrew Motion has become the new Chair of the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council. Poet Laureate since 1999, he was previously a Member of Arts Council England and Chair of the ACE Literature Panel, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
