Roger Edwards has completed his period as Interim Director at Southend Theatres and handed over to the new Director Ellen McPhillips.

Professional dancer Jan De Schynkel has joined Arts Council England, South East as Dance Officer.

Dance Base, Scotland’s National Centre for Dance, has promoted John Lyndon (pictured) to the position of Bookings & Front of House Manager. John has worked with Dance Base for three years and previously worked at the Traverse Theatre.

Claire Drakeley is leaving her role as General Manager with The Works: Dance & Theatre Cornwall to pursue a freelance career in dance, event and project management.

Peter Garden (pictured) has joined the management team of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic as Executive Director (Learning and Engagement). His previous role was as Regional Adviser: Culture, Children and Young People, for Museums, Libraries and Archives North West and Arts Council England, North West.

Andy Wiggans, who in a previous role was Executive Director at Rochdale Council, has taken over as Chair of Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust.

The new Education Officer at Tees Valley Arts is Jane Gray (pictured). Previously at Birmingham Rep, the Barbican Theatre and Royal National Theatre in London, she has most recently worked in an arts development role with young people in Ryedale, North Yorkshire.

Susanna Eastburn, currently Executive Producer of Lift (London International Festival of Theatre), has been appointed Director, Music Strategy at Arts Council England.

Emma Dolman (pictured) is the first Arts Centre Director for South Oxfordshire District Council’s multi-million pound arts centre, Cornerstone, based in Didcot and due for completion in spring/summer 2008. Emma was previously Director at Forest Arts Centre in Hampshire.

Anna Tallon has left her role as Marketing & Development Administrator at The Sage Gateshead to become Marketing Officer for the Gala Theatre & Cinema in Durham.

Carys Shannon (pictured) formerly of Sherman Cymru, has taken up the position of General Manager with Volcano Theatre Company. She replaces Katie Keeler, who is now Creative Producer at Theatre Bristol.

Jamie Wyld is the new Head of Media Arts at Lighthouse in Brighton.

Eureka! The National Children’s Museum in Halifax has appointed David Jackson (pictured) as its new Chairman. A trustee of the museum since 2003, he is currently Chairman and Chief Executive of engineering company Redhall Group Plc.

Boudicca Lee Maloney has moved on from her roles at Remarkable Productions and the Independent Street Arts Network (ISAN) to join Fool’s Paradise and to take on freelance projects.

The new Chairman of the Liverpool Biennial Board is Paula Ridley (pictured), formerly Chairman of the V&A Museum and Director of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

John Nicholls, Jo Cottrell and Harriet Paul, all formerly of London Calling Arts, have established a new agency, Arts Quarter LLP, to provide support to cultural organisations looking to develop their business models.
