A National Centre for Photography in Wales is one step closer following the announcement by the Arts Council of Wales of a £2.4m grant towards its establishment as part of a redevelopment of Margam Castle and Park in Port Talbot.

Ffotogallery, the national development agency for photography in Wales, which has recently outgrown its premises in Cardiff, is working in partnership with Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council to develop the project. The new Centre will house five contemporary exhibition spaces, an interactive gallery, workshop and teaching spaces, and library and digital archive facilities, as well as residential accommodation for extended visits by photographers, artists and school groups.
