LightCube, the second public artwork in the Skelmersdale image enhancement project is being unveiled on Exchange Island ? one of three artworks to be located on traffic islands in the town.
The public art is part of a project funded by the Single Regeneration Budget project, known as Elements. The project involves a range of economic, training and community projects in Skelmersdale, aiming to improve the image of the industrial estates in order to encourage inward investment and job creation in the town. The LightCube is a digitally controlled light tower which reflects high-tech industries nearby and involves state-of-the-art communications, such as fibre optics, electronics and lighting.

A project website includes an interactive game based on the LightCube and video clips about how the sculpture was made. w: http://www.skemart.co.uk
