Aberdeen Performing Arts, which includes His Majesty?s Theatre and Aberdeen Box Office, has appointed Lorna Christie from Cornerstone Community Care as Development Manager. Andrea Watt, the former Development Manager, has been appointed Sales and Marketing Manager.

CABE (The Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment) has appointed design expert John Sorrell (pictured) as its new Chair. Previously Chairman of the UK Design Council, he takes over from Paul Finch who has chaired CABE since the resignation of Sir Stuart Lipton in June.

Sir Richard Armstrong has announced his intention to stand down as Scottish Opera?s Music Director in July 2005. He will remain as an advisor to the company for two more years, to support Scottish Opera?s management team in artistic matters.

Fergus Logan has been appointed Artistic Director of Ballet Central.
