The Scottish Cultural Commission, established by the Scottish Executive earlier this year to investigate the national arts infrastructure and make recommendations for future policy, has finalised its research process. The Executive has set aside a £478,000 budget to fund the Commission?s work and 14 cultural sector groups have been set up to liaise between the Commission and arts practitioners.
A consultation process with key stakeholders will explore three phases: ?Cultural rights and the role of the Commission?, ?Developing talent? and ?Realising the potential?, and lead to the publication of a final report next summer. Individuals interested in contributing are also invited to submit views and evidence under the theme ?Future Scotland: what the nation?s cultural life should be a generation from now.? w: http://www.culturalcommission.org.uk
