An artist-led professional development programme for emerging British theatre artists has been launched by Tamasha Theatre Company in the form of a membership programme offering workshops, intensive training initiatives, masterclasses and traineeships. e: info@tamasha.org.uk

The Arts Programme of the Baring Foundation, which has been supporting small-scale arts projects since 1997, has now closed, with final grants being awarded in September 2004. The Foundation will continue to operate its Core Costs Programme, but this is no longer open to new applications. However, arts organisations looking for organisational development grants may still be eligible to apply to the Foundation?s Strengthening the Voluntary Sector programme.

As part of the 2005 celebrations for the 100th anniversary of Einstein coming up with E=mc2, the Institute of Physics is offering grants of up to £1,500 to support ?Einstein Year? projects: Rambert Dance Company will premiere and tour a new work based on Einstein?s theories and Watershed Arts Centre will be staging a weekend science (and physics) film festival.

Film and theatre writers from Soho Theatre + Writers? Centre and the National Film and Television School (NFTS) have forged a new relationship by developing parallels in the structures and aims of their programmes. Soho Theatre?s six Writers on Attachment are adapting screenplays from scenes from their own short plays, and students of the NFTS Screenwriting Course are writing short plays with dramaturgical support from Soho Theatre.

The Jerwood Charity is funding a pioneering Young Producers? Bursary at Battersea Arts Centre (BAC), to support producers emerging from BAC?s own producing team to develop their independence. The aim of the funding is to support inspirational producers and promote a creative relationship between young producers and visionary artists.
