Small World Big Dream

A Multicultural Arts and Education Festival involving thousands of young people is to take place in schools across County Durham and Sunderland. Running throughout the autumn term (September – December), Small World Big Dream will give pupils the chance to explore different cultures and traditions and gain first-hand experience of working with a professional artist. t: Lisa Tolan or Denise Alexander, 01207 284 515.

Spotlighting individual artists

Up to eight individual African, Asian and Caribbean artists based in the North East will have the opportunity either to profile their own work or be part of a high-profile exhibition or production. The artwork can be any genre or discipline.

Based at Oval House Theatre, London, the Artists Advisor is an advice and information service for artists working in theatre and performance. New Chinese Arts Centre

A new national British flagship exhibition centre for Chinese contemporary visual art opens this November 2003 in Manchester. The new centre is a result of a £2.2m award from an Arts Council England Lottery Fund.

Diversity Conference

The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) holds a diversity conference titled Hidden Treasures on November 27 in London. The NCVO Diversity Toolkit, with practical advice on how to mainstream diversity in your organisation, will also be launched at the conference.
