Youth Music will be operating a new funding model from November, following the publication of the National Plan for Music Education. The Youth Music Programme will continue to focus on developing high quality music provision for children and young people, but will be structured around modules rather than programmes. Each module will focus either on an issue such as access, engagement or education, or on a group of children and young people that has been identified as in need of support. The new system aims to allow organisations to apply for financial support for areas of work which are priorities for their own communities of children and young people. It will also aim to allow applicants to seek funding that matches their organisational strengths, priorities and partnerships.
