National companies funded directly by the Government have reacted positively to the Scottish Government’s draft budget for 2017/18, given the wider economic context.

The new body will be worth £40m a year to the Welsh economy and sustain 850 jobs, the Minister responsible for Culture has claimed.

Culture Secretary Karen Bradley has dispelled fears she was planning on pulling Britain out of the competition because of Brexit. 

A digital gallery, loan schemes and public tours in schools and libraries are among the proposals for opening the Civil Service Art Collection to all.

Concerns have been raised about the quality of diversity data, with Arts Council England Chief Executive Darren Henley labelling under-reporting by NPOs “extremely disappointing”.

The DCMS, Arts Council England and national arts organisations must all do more to support culture in the regions, a select committee has concluded.
