Scotland’s arts community responds to exhaustive report by Cultural Commission. A total of 124 recommendations for the future of the arts in Scotland have been included in a report by the Scottish Cultural Commission on the cultural landscape of Scotland.

A widespread review of Scotland’s cultural activity is to “look again at [the country’s] cultural infrastructure and ask if it fit for purpose.” The review, heralded by Scotland’s First Minister, Jack McConnell in his St Andrew’s Day address in November 2003, will run for a year and investigate the current status of arts activity in Scotland.

The Welsh Assembly Government has issued a detailed remit setting out the role it expects the Arts Council of Wales (ACW) to play in the delivery of its strategic agenda, “Wales: A Better Country”.
