Following the Society of London Theatre’s (SOLT) dramatic increase in sales for this year’s Kids Week scheme, the scheme has been awarded a London Lifestyle Award for Best Cultural Attraction. Now in its fifteenth year, it allows a child to go free to the theatre with a full paying adult and two additional children to go for half price. It also offers the chance for children to attend specially run backstage events. This year, the event ran across August to mark the London Festival and sold 129, 160 tickets – a 79% increase on the previous year.
