Wyeside Arts Centre
Wyeside Arts Centre

Six theatres have been granted a total of £24.5k to spend on small scale capital projects, in a second round of grants from The Theatres Trust’s Theatres Protection Fund Small Grants Scheme. They include the fund’s first grant to a theatre in Wales, the Wyeside Arts Centre, which receives £5,000 for urgent repairs to its north riverside elevation. The grant scheme, which pays for building maintenance projects such as heating repairs, rewiring and roof repairs, has a total of £50k to distribute this year. Donations from producer Judy Cramer and the Andrew Lloyd Webber foundation have created a significant fund from which the grants are made, but The Theatres Trust is calling for others to donate and “play their part to protect our much loved theatres.”
