Male and female performing on stage

Despite a record-breaking year for box office income and the first potential West End transfer in almost a quarter of a century, the Board of Management at Glasgow’s Citizens Theatre has dismissed its Joint Artistic Directors in a bid to restructure the company. A representative of the theatre told AP that Jeremy Raison and Guy Hollands will “continue to direct the autumn programme as advertised”, but following “discussion of different financial models”, the partnership would come to an end with almost immediate effect. Karl Sydow, the producer of ‘Backbeat’, the stage adaptation of the cult Beatles film, which sold out at the Citizens Theatre in February, is currently in talks with a London theatre for a West End transfer of the production.
