Theatres Trust objects to demolition plans

The Shell Theatre on Southbank, designed by Cecil Beaton, has been described by the Trust as an “important cultural resource”. It has criticised Lambeth Council for failing to properly assess the potential benefits of the theatre which, because of its size and facilities, could become a home for professional work or community theatre.
