Thirty performing arts venues in London will be taking part in the Mayors Open Rehearsal Festival next month, offering visitors behind-the-scenes access. Venues taking part include the Royal Academy of Music (pictured), English Royal Ballet and the National Theatre which will open their doors from 27 September to 2 October for a programme of rehearsals, backstage tours, workshops, masterclasses and talks.

Mayor of London Ken Livingstone said, The range of arts and cultural activity in London is second to none... Open Rehearsal lets people find out what it takes to stage some of the finest dance, theatre and music performances in the world and we want to encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to engage in new and exciting ways with the performing arts.
